Tiki Tanks are enemies which first appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns and later appear in Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They can be encountered for the first time in the Ruins area. Tiki Tanks resemble wooden, bongo-shaped entities. They sport a stone crown and a lower stone jaw with wooden sharp teeth. They have beady yellow pupils and black sclera. Their arms are timbered and tied to what look like three-holed maracas. They are surrounded by a wooden skirt.

Tiki Tanks, in the state they are initially encountered, are invulnerable to most of the Kongs' attacks, excluding the throwing of projectiles. When the primates roll into a Tiki Tank, they will merely bump into it and get pushed back; likewise, a simple touch from this enemy is harmful for the Kongs. Neither a stomp affects them. However, these enemies can provide boosts over small gaps if jumped on. As stated earlier, they can be defeated by throwing a barrel at them. They can also be taken out if the primates get blasted out of a Barrel Cannon into one of them or if they ram into them with Rambi's horn. Most of the time, the Kongs themselves would have to pound the ground nearby in order to turn a Tiki Tank upside-down, during which its bottom is left discovered and ready to get stomped on, granting defeat for the enemy.
Despite their resilience to direct-contact attacks, Tiki Tanks can still be defeated a number of ways. Like with Pinchlys, the Kongs can ground pound next to a Tiki Tank to flip it over into the ground temporarily, revealing a weak underside, which the Kongs can jump on to destroy the enemy. Tiki Tanks are members of the Tiki Tak Tribe and enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. First appearing in the Ruins world, they are bongo-shaped creatures reinforced with pieces of stone armor, which protect them from jump and roll attacks. The Kongs lose a heart if they simply walk into a Tiki Tank, but will safely be pushed back a bit if they try rolling into it. Jumping on a Tiki Tank can give the Kongs some additional height, helping them reach high platforms or collectibles.

On occasion, Tiki Tanks can be instantly defeated if the Kongs throw a barrel at it, blast into it from a Barrel Cannon, or with help from Rambi.

On the second question of a Play Nintendo quiz related to Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, a picture of a Tiki Tank is erroneously used to represent Tiki Tong.[1]
