Stubby cannons[1] are small turrets that appear in both the first tank level and second tank level in Super Mario Bros. 3. Stubby cannons resemble black pipes and are attached to the left side of most tanks in these levels. They fire cannonballs that travel straight to the left. Stubby cannons have the same cannonball speed and firing rate as standard cannons, which also appear in the same levels. Also like the standard cannons, stubby cannons cannot be destroyed or disabled.
