The Quick Swim[1] is a move appearing only in Super Mario Odyssey. It is performed by pressing Y Button during an underwater Ground Pound, much like a dive in the air. Mario stretches both arms forward, then swings them down to his sides to propel himself in the direction that he is facing. This move vaguely resembles the butterfly stroke. Mario cannot change direction or altitude during a Quick Swim. The move is short and reverts to normal movement very quickly. If Mario collides with a wall during a Quick Swim, he bounces off and is briefly stunned. This is also similar to diving. If this happens at the surface of water, Mario gets bounced up into the air before landing back in the water for the stun animation. The move emulates the underwater movement seen in Super Mario 64 up to Super Mario Galaxy 2.
