- “This monster boasts top-class hardiness! It's the best! It's just snacked on Heart Beans like a good little beast too. I may, in fact, have given it too much. It's incredibly hardy!”
- —Maniac No. 3, Mario & Luigi: Brothership
Curlup Rs are stronger versions of Curlups in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Only one appears in the game, during the side quest Monster Mania: Level 3 on Petit Islet. Curlup Rs have purple shells and white bellies, differing themselves from their normal counterparts.
Battle
Mario and Luigi must defeat the Curlup R to clear the side quest. The enemy is level 40 and has an extraordinary amount of HP. It fights exactly like a normal Curlup, having the same attacks.
Inflicting the burn status on the Curlup R makes it lose 10,500 HP and thus makes defeating it much easier.
