Jump the Gun is a 2-vs.-2 minigame found in Mario Party 6 and Super Mario Party Jamboree. Its name comes from a phrase that refers to when a person does something prematurely.
In Mario Party 6, there are only aesthetic differences between daytime and nighttime.
Introduction[edit]
The player mounting the cannon fires a Bullet Bill into the first target. The other player then jumps onto it.
Gameplay[edit]
One character on each team controls a cannon that shoots out Bullet Bills. The other character then has to use those Bullet Bills as small platforms to get to the finish line. Players can shoot a Bullet Bill at only one of the targets and can shoot only one at a time. If the other player falls off the stage, a Lakitu lifts them back onto the last Bullet Bill they stood upon. The player who reaches the goal point first wins for their team. If no player makes it to the goal within five minutes in Mario Party 6 or three minutes in Super Mario Party Jamboree, the minigame ends in a tie.
Ending[edit]
The winners perform their victory animations at the goal point. If five minutes pass in Mario Party 6 or three minutes pass in Super Mario Party Jamboree, everybody does their defeat animations. In Super Mario Party Jamboree, the losers perform their defeat animations at the goal point.
