The Dreadnought Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. The galaxy is a mechanical, technologically advanced battle station. Topmaniac, the leader of the Topman Tribe, is fought here again. The galaxy reuses several elements from Battlerock Galaxy, such as cannons, Space Mines, and other battle operations, as well as music, but is based in and around a massive, stationary starship known as "The Dreadnought", and has the same background as Good Egg Galaxy. The name "Dreadnought" comes from a real-life type of battleship. This is the only galaxy in the game to have different starting planets for every mission.

The Dreadnought Galaxy is a galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. This galaxy is a very mechanical and technological battle station. This is where Topmaniac is refought, the leader of the Topman. It uses several elements from Battlerock Galaxy but is somewhat more difficult. It also has a massive ship called The Dreadnought.
The Dreadnought (Inside)
The entrance has three Goombeetles and a Warp Pipe. The inside portion is a side-scrolling area with hazards such as Amps, Cannons, and moving walls. At the end is another Warp Pipe. The gravity of this area can be changed with gravity switches, which are necessary to proceed through the area. In the Purple Coins mission, after collecting the last Purple Coin, they land here, while the Goombeetles and the entrance pipe (along with its case) were replaced by a Gearmo who awards the player a star if they collect all of the Purple Coins.

Mario (or his brother) has to explore a couple of planets with lasers before he gets into the Dreadnought. Then he has to go through some sidesrolling areas before reaching a planet with a Bill Blaster. He need to flood the planet by breaking a cage with a Bullet Bill. This triggers laser platforms which he must jump across for a Power Star.

The Tower Planet is a planet consisting of various cylinders that fall when Mario gets to a higher level. On the top parts are a pair of moving walls and a Launch Star. If Mario looks off to the left, he can see the Starting Planet's laser beams, but not the planet itself. A black hole can be seen beneath the tower.

Blue Cube Planet
Mario will start out on a U-shaped platform with electric borders. Jumping down to the platform below, the player can get some Star Bits and lead/throw a Bom-omb to break a cage holding a 1-Up Mushroom. To get further in the level, Mario must run left on the giant screw until he's close enough to jump to the next platform. Here, the player must avoid Chain Chomp balls from hitting them while lighting up all the blue tiles.

This Blue Cube Planet has Eye Beamers and a Sling Star to the Aqua Planet.

After this, two more screws must be traversed. However, the player cannot fall off like the last time, because there is a black hole beneath the area. This task is made slightly more harder, as two Electrogoomba's will shoot coconuts at Mario. If timed correctly, they can be destroyed when they first appear. Once on the platform where the Electrogoomba's had been, Mario can (if he was fast enough) pick up the coins they leave behind. Mario should look upwards to see Star Bits in the design of, ironically, a Star; Mario can get these by pointing at them with the Wii Remote. A Launch Star is up ahead. However, a Bom-omb sprouts from a device underneath it, making getting to the star, and getting the treasure from the blocks near it (the left one has Star Bits, while the right one has Coins), time consuming. Mario can Starspin the Bom-omb and throw it away from the player, but still on the platform for a few moments peace to accomplish getting the treasure and/or getting to the Launch Star.

The Aqua Planet is a medium-sized planet with a Bill Blaster and several Goombeetles. There is a vault that when broken, floods the planet, which is necessary to complete the level. There are also a lot of platforms with Eye Beamers whose lasers move across the water and a pair of robot turtles that take Mario from platform to platform. Above it is a small cubical planetoid. Some metallic structures are above the water, and one of them has a Power Star.

Get the Star Bits that appear when the Launch Star is used. Mario soon lands on a small platform. This is much like the first mission of Battlerock, except Mario doesn't have the leisure to go underneath the moving platform. Mario must dodge cannonballs, electric fences, Goomba's, and jumping to different platforms through use of gravity. Eventually, the Mario will end up on a platform with a Thwomp that he must get past, which leads to more platforms. At the end of these platforms, Mario must jump to avoid waves a Jumper is making. When close enough, he can jump onto the the Jumper, and get the Star.

This area has three parts. In the first part is a Bolt Lift that moves forward or backwards depending on how much weight is on it. Beneath it is a green platform with Bob-ombs. The second part has several Flipswitch Panels which Mario must press by avoiding the Mini Chomps that constantly fall from the dog shacks. If he presses them all, Mario can access the third part. In this part are two more screws and two Roctos that must be defeated, causing a bridge leading to the Launch Star to appear. There is a black hole underneath the planet's far end.

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all names are unofficial.

The Dreadnought[edit]

The Dreadnought.

The Dreadnought is the spaceship that makes up most of the Dreadnought Galaxy. It has cannons and spikes that can damage Mario, causing him to lose one Health Point. At the top of the Dreadnought, there is a pool of water. There are also springs and Pull Stars littered all over.

Beam Planet[edit]

The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.

Mario on the Beam Planet

The Beam Planet is a planet shaped like an hourglass that is full of Eye Beamers and other electrical hazards that spin around it. At the opposite end is a Launch Star that Mario must get to by jumping on a spring.

The Dreadnought (Inside)[edit]

Mario inside the ship's main core.

Mario avoiding electric bars in the Cannon Fleet Path.

This is a section on the side of the Dreadnought which consists of several platforms of different sizes that travel along a path. There are obstacles such as cannons and electric currents. At the end is a Power Star. During the mission Battlestation's Purple Coins, there is a Launch Star leading to the entrance to the Dreadnought's Gravity Corridor.

UFO[edit]

Mario on the UFO.

The upper part of this UFO has a Spring Topman and the lower part has a Warp Pipe that leads to the Garbage Dump. The Topman is needed to reach a Sling Star above. A similar-looking saucer-shaped planet can be seen from the Tower that Mario has to climb in Infiltrating the Dreadnought. The UFO resembles the Battlerock Galaxy's Starting Planet, though much larger.

Ammo Depot[edit]

The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.

Mario near some Bob-ombs on the Garbage Dump.

This is a planet shaped like half a sphere. It is inhabited by a Gearmo that cleans the garbage. There are also some Bob-ombs that Mario must use to blow up the garbage in order to obtain a Power Star from the Gearmo. The planet is accessed from a Warp Pipe on the Starting Planet, although the Warp Pipe is only available in Revenge of the Topman Tribe.

Sphere Planet[edit]

The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the section should be changed to its appropriate title.

Mario on the Sphere Planet.

This planet has several cylinder structures sticking out and is positioned above the Starting Planet in the third mission. Mario must knock two Spiky Topmen into an electrical barrier to free a trapped Luma. After being freed, the Luma will transform into a Sling Star that will lead Mario to the Cube Planet.
