A New Donker playing with an RC Car in the Metro Kingdom

An RC Car (also called a Remote Control Car) is a type of toy car that appears in Super Mario Odyssey, resembling the Checker Marathon. RC Cars appear to be miniature remote-controlled versions of the taxis seen throughout the Metro Kingdom. Two RC Cars appear in the Metro Kingdom, each being used by a hatless New Donker who has trouble with the controls. Mario can capture those New Donkers in order to control the car. The left Control Stick Control Stick can be pushed up to accelerate and pushed down to decelerate. When the player pushes left or right on the right Control Stick Control Stick, the car turns accordingly. Bumping into walls slows the car down.

In the first instance, the New Donker is driving in a course with the "Remotely Captured Car" Power Moon in a cage marked with a finish flag pattern on the other end. The New Donker is driving the car back and forth. Attacking the car stops it from moving for a short time. The opening in the cage is RC Car-sized, so Mario can use the car to collect the Power Moon. Doing so unlocks a building with the RC Car Challenge minigame, where the player must complete three laps on a track under a specified time to collect Power Moons. The course is behind a glass pane and invisible ceiling, so Mario cannot directly touch this car. Additionally, the New Donker here does not drive the car outside Mario's influence, and the game resets when Mario releases the New Donker.
