A Star Barrier[1] is an object appearing in Super Mario Galaxy 2. They appear as blockades on the World Map, preventing Starship Mario from moving beyond them. The only way to get past them is to have the required number of Power Stars, which is different for every Star Barrier. Once the Power Star requirements are met, the Star Barrier will start to shine.
