- —Fawflant, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
Fawflants are Fawful-like, drill ant enemies found in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. They live underneath Toad Town in the Toad Town Caves. In the overworld, they will start a battle by walking backwards toward Mario and Luigi with the drill in action. They are similar to Fawfloppers in that they are designed after insects and Fawful.
In battle, they have two attacks. If two or more Fawflants are in battle, they attack Mario and/or Luigi at the same time; this can be countered by jumping. For the other attack, they simply walk backwards into one of the brothers, who will take damage and possibly be poisoned if they are hit by the drill. This move can be countered by using the hammer.
Also, in Toad Town Caves, Mario and Luigi meet two Fawflants, disguised as Toads and acting as guards for Fawful while he is stealing the Dark Star; this also shows that Fawflants are capable of speech and shapeshifting. These Fawflants are a required battle in order to proceed.
Bowser can simply walk into these enemies to defeat them, though this can achieved only with hacking, as Bowser cannot access the areas where they can be found.
Fawflants also appear as enemies in the remake's Bowser Jr.'s Journey mode. They are Melee troops and their Special Skill is Charging Champ.
