Ghosts[1] are forms in Super Mario Bros. Wonder that characters take in co-op mode when they are defeated and out of play. While in this form, a five-second countdown appears; during the countdown, the ghost player will gain a panicked expression and must touch another player in play or a standee to respawn in their Small form if not playing as a Yoshi or Nabbit. Otherwise, they lose a life.
Ghosts share a similar function with Bubbles.
