Tetris Mario is an original transformation that Mario and Wario take in Super Mario-kun. In this form, that they can take by wearing a T-Tetrimino like a hat, they can execute a move called Tetris Flash that can zap away rows of blocks and debris.
In the bonus chapter of Super Mario-kun Volume 9, Wario takes this form after destroying an underwater rock. His Goomba companion makes him notice that the rock debris are blocking their path, so Wario grabs a T-Tetrimino and executes a Tetris Flash to remove them. Afterward, in trying to pass through the rock passage, his Tetrimino headgear gets stuck in the narrow passage, forcing him to remove it.
In chapter 9 of Super Mario-kun Volume 10, Wario traps Mario, Yoshi, and Chirako in a pit and starts dropping Tetriminos. If they get trapped under them, they will end up frozen. After Yoshi and Chirako are freeze-trapped by the Tetriminos, Mario finds a T-Tetrimino with a Super Star inside it and, with a more powerful "Tetris Star Flash", is able to remove all the Tetriminos, free his friends and escape the pit. Wario flies away on his Bulldog and Mario tries to zap him, but misses and provokes an avalanche that sends him and his friends back to the Mushroom Kingdom.
