The Retry Clock is an item found exclusively in the original Nintendo DS version of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. If both Mario and Luigi or Bowser fall in battle, the Retry Clock allows them to restart the battle with their HP and SP at the state before the battle started, although this also resets the enemy's HP. The Retry Clock is similar to a Life Shroom, however, it is in some ways better and in some ways worse. No Retry Clock may be purchased in shops by either Bowser or the brothers. Retry Clocks can only be found in blocks, or given out as rewards from golden panels that Bowser can body slam on, or from winning certain boss battles.

Retry Clocks are the only consumable items that appeared in the original game to not reappear in the remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, as the player can restart battles at any time when they receive a Game Over.
