The Red Monster is a set of tires in the Mario Kart series.

History

Mario Kart 7

They first appear in Mario Kart 7 as unlockable tires. They offer good speed, weight, and off-road, while hindering the acceleration and handling stats. Compared to the Monster tires, however, the Red Monster tires' acceleration is increased by a smaller rate, while their weight is slightly lower. They are tied with the Monster tires for the best off-road boost in the game. They are also tied with the Monster tires, the Slick tires, and the Gold Tires, for the lowest handling boost. The Red Monster and Monster are the only tires that can drift off-road.

A similar tire part called the Hot Monster appears in Mario Kart 8; this tire, however, is statistically identical to the game's Monster tires.

Mario Kart Tour

The Red Monster tires return in Mario Kart Tour, where they are used by the Rambi Rider. Black-colored tires with the same structure and tread pattern are used by the Dozer Dasher and the Dark Buggy, silver tires with a different pattern but otherwise the same spokes are used by the Rambi Runner, and Mario Kart 8 versions with black treads are used by the Dragonfly. Unlike their Mario Kart 7 appearance, the Red Monster tires (as well as their derivatives) now have the Mario Kart logo printed on them.
