The Star Panel is an item from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake. This item is obtained by Mario and Luigi in the Energy Hold inside Bowser's body. Once all 6 of the pieces are put together, they can access a door, in which Durmite escaped into. In each of the areas of the Energy Hold, one piece of the Star Panel can be activated by hitting a special Block. Consequently, hitting the block again will deactivate the corresponding piece. There are three different types of Star Panels that can be used: inverted triangle, star-shaped, and oddly shaped. The Star Panel can only be received by using the Boo-ray machine in the Tower of Yikk when it's turned on. The Star Panel is ideally one of the most important key items in Bowser's Inside Story.
There is a glitch, where occasionally, upon completing one of the sections in the energy hold, the Star Panel will not appear, resulting in a softlock.[citation needed]
