Satoru Okada is a former employee of Nintendo. First working at Nintendo Research & Development 1, he was the hardware designer of the Game & Watch series and the Game Boy, and directed several of Nintendo R&D1's early console and handheld games, including Metroid and Kid Icarus.
He was promoted to head of Nintendo Research & Engineering, where he oversaw the development of Nintendo's portable systems starting with the Game Boy Color. Satoru Okada retired after the release of the Nintendo DSi XL.
