World 6-1 is the first level of World 6 in Super Mario Bros. Special. It is a long overworld stage set at night.
The level opens with a pair of ? Blocks containing Coins, before a pit with a wide staircase of Hard Blocks on the other end, which form an overhang on the ground below. At the top of the staircase are three Brick Blocks, the middle of which contains a powerup, and below the right of the staircase's overhang are two coins, alongside a Hidden Block containing a third coin. After another pit to the right is another row of Brick Blocks, the rightmost one being a Coin Block, alongside a Lakitu that will chase Mario and throw Spinies down throughout the level. After another pit is a wide stretch of land, leading to a zig-zag pattern of Hard Blocks that form a staircase to cross another pit. After this are three ? Blocks, and a square of floating Hard Blocks beside a wall of Hard Blocks that staircase to two rows of Brick Blocks. The Brick Block to the direct right of the wall of Hard Blocks contains a powerup, and a Hidden Block is beneath it so Mario can reach it. After another pit is an Island above ground with tiny pits, next to a Pipe containing a Piranha Plant. To the right of the pipe is another staircase of Hard Blocks, beside two rows of Brick Blocks and two ? Blocks; one row of Brick Blocks is atop the ground. To the right are twelve ? Blocks, the fourth from the left containing a powerup and the rest containing coins, before another Hard Block staircase leading to three rows of Brick Blocks, forming a staircase downwards. The leftmost brick block on the top row is a Coin Block, and a hidden block beneath the second leftmost brick block on the top row contains a 1-Up Mushroom. Past another pit is one final section of land, before a large pit with three pairs of Hard Blocks staircasing upwards above it, leading to one final jump before the flagpole.
