Variant of Cheep Chomp

Mega Cheep Chomps, also called Big Cheep Chomps,[1] are a large variety of Cheep Chomp in Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Mario Party 10.

History

Paper Mario: Sticker Star

Big Cheep Chomps[1] makes his first appearance as an obstacle on the water surface of Long Fall Falls in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. They are made of cardboard and have a propeller-like tail. When entering the level, a Big Cheep Chomp emerges from the water and starts chasing Mario throughout the entire river, charging and jumping onto the raft to destroy parts of it. If all parts of the raft are destroyed, Mario receives a Game Over. At the end of the waterfall, the Big Cheep Chomp propels itself into the sky while Mario continues his descent.

If the level is replayed, each time the Big Cheep Chomp will become more difficult to evade, exhibiting faster movements and tricking the player.

Mario Party 10

In Mario Party 10, a Mega Cheep Chomp is featured as the mid-boss of Whimsical Waters in story mode. Its minigame, Mega Cheep Chomp's Shell Shock, involves each player launching their three Koopa Shells to inflict damage. Mega Cheep Chomp targets the player who last hit it. If a player is caught, Mega Cheep Chomp lunges at them, costing them two points. When Mega Cheep Chomp becomes angered, two or three Cheep Cheeps swim around Mega Cheep Chomp to help protect it from the shells.

This battle features mechanics quite similar to Whomp Stomp, as in both boss minigames, the players must avoid being attacked by the boss by moving the side he will attack.
