Mario Party Superstars:

X-Ray Payday is a 4-Player coin-collecting minigame in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party Superstars. This minigame was formerly known as Money Belt in Mario Party 6, but it was subsequently renamed in Mario Party Superstars to avoid confusion with the similarly named Money Belts from Mario Party 4. The minigame takes place at an airport or a factory.

Introduction[edit]

The introduction shows the characters running to their area, the camera zoomed in on the first box's X-ray.

Gameplay[edit]

The objective of the game is to get as many coins as possible. To get coins, players must open the boxes on the conveyor belts in front of them. There are X-ray scanning machines to the left that show which objects are in the boxes. Each scanning machine scans three boxes ahead, so players can memorize what is in which box. There are empty boxes, boxes with one coin, boxes with bags that contain five coins, and boxes with hazardous items. Opening a box with a boxing glove stuns the player for one turn. Bob-ombs stun the player for two turns. In Mario Party 6, the maximum number of coins available for the players to collect is always 19, while in Mario Party Superstars, the maximum is 20.

Ending[edit]

Players perform their victory animations as the conveyor belts continue to function. If a player did not collect any coins, they do their losing animation instead.
