Cranky Kong, "The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights"

The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights is an annual event that serves as the day of truce between the apes and lizards in the Donkey Kong Country television series episode "The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights." The members of Kongo Bongo Island celebrate it with family and friends, participating in activities such as exchanging gifts and watching fireworks. The pirates do not honor the truce as they stole the Crystal Coconut (along with the presents) during the episode. When Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and General Klump tried to retrieve the Coconut from the pirates, it was revealed that Kaptain Skurvy was Klump's long lost brother. The Kongo Bongo Festival of Lights is based on the real-life holiday Christmas.
