First appearance Donkey Kong Country – "It's a Wonderful Life" (2000)
“Alright, men! In one hour, we launch our final, take no prisoners attack on the papier-mâché lily pad! Once and for all I shall be the supreme leader of the island, formerly known as 'Kongo Bongo'!”
Diddy Kong, "It's a Wonderful Life"

The papier-mâché lily pad is a lily pad that appears in the dream that Donkey Kong has in which he imagines Kongo Bongo Island without himself in the Donkey Kong Country episode "It's a Wonderful Life". The lily pad is effectively a counterpart to the Crystal Coconut, being a prized possession that King K. Rool and his crew (who are heroic in the dream) must protect from Diddy Kong and the rest of the apes (who are villainous in the dream). During the episode, DK eventually persuades Eddie the Guardian Angel Yeti to make him exist again. Once he decides to go to K. Rool's lair, he sees the crocodiles protecting the lily pad. The crocodiles start out skeptical about DK, yet eventually allow DK to hold the lily pad. The lily pad slips out of DK's hand, but he barely catches it before it made contact with the ground. He then becomes relieved and uses the lily pad as a fan, which then leads to him throwing it and causing it to break after hitting the floor. The crocodiles then become enraged at DK for breaking it.
