Polterpiranhas,[1] referred to in the Super Smash Bros. series as simply Ghosts, are enemies in Yoshi's Island DS. They are undead cobalt blue Piranha Plants with wings.
History[edit]
Yoshi's Island DS[edit]
Polterpiranhas are positioned upside-down in Yoshi's Island DS and move either up and down or from left to right. If a Polterpiranha grabs a Yoshi, they it for roughly two seconds, causing the baby with Yoshi to float around until captured again. Either a Yoshi's Egg or Baby DK's dash attack can defeat a Polterpiranha.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
Polterpiranha is only mentioned in the Super Smash Bros. series a few times. In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Polterpiranha, retranslated as Ghost, is mentioned as a variety in the North American version of the Piranha Plant trophy; it is unmentioned in the British English version, but is mentioned in the Japanese version under its full name. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ghosts are mentioned briefly by Viridi during Palutena's Guidance dialogue for Piranha Plant.
