Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut
- This article is about the VHS release of the Donkey Kong Country television series. For the episode, see Legend of the Crystal Coconut. For the DVD release, see Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut (DVD).
Donkey Kong Country: The Legend of the Crystal Coconut (named Donkey Kong Country: Legend of the Crystal Coconut in the title card) is a VHS release of the Donkey Kong Country television series released in 1999 by Paramount Home Entertainment in the United States and by Séville Pictures in Canada.[1]
The VHS advertises itself as a "film"; however, it is actually a collection of four episodes: "Legend of the Crystal Coconut," "Bug a Boogie," "Ape-Nesia," and "Booty and the Beast." The episodes are spliced together, with exclusive narration by Richard Yearwood as Donkey Kong added between each one to create a cohesive storyline. Despite the order of the episodes, these are not shown in order by release. Kaptain Skurvy is one of the main antagonists in all four episodes in this release.
Blurb[edit]
It's the wildest, hairiest, most fur-ocious Donkey Kong adventure yet, as the popular Nintendo character swings into his own 3-D animated full-length feature!
Legend says whoever holds the Crystal Coconut will get any wish granted. Now everybody on the island of Kongo Bongo is going bananas trying to get the coconut, including ruthless crocodile King K. Rool and notorious pirate Captain Scurvy.[sic] But our hero D.K. has a few surprises up his fur-covered sleeve!
Brilliant 3-D animation, original songs and coconutty characters make this "rumble in the jungle" a great family video.
Produced by award-winning Nelvana.

Notes[edit]
- In "Ape-Nesia," a flashback of Donkey Kong and Diddy stuck in barrels on Kaptain Skurvy's ship from "Booty and the Beast" is present. However, the former is placed before the latter in this VHS, which is the opposite in its original episodic releases.
