The opening shows players driving in their karts to the starting line of a race course, then the lights signal the start of the race.

Four players compete to finish two laps around the circuit. Players can move around sharp curves by turning their Wii Remotes all the way. The first player to end two laps wins, though if either several players finish in under a second or none of the finish two laps by five minutes, it is a tie.
