DVD cover

Donkey Kong Country: Raiders of the Lost Banana is a European DVD release of the Donkey Kong Country television series. It was released in 2009 by Fremantle Home Entertainment.[1] The DVD runs for approximately 118 minutes and includes five episodes: "Raiders of the Lost Banana," "Barrel, Barrel... Who's Got the Barrel," "Kong for a Day," "From Zero to Hero," and "Buried Treasure."

Blurb[edit]

Very deep in the jungle there is Donkey Kong, a regular ape who found a magic coconut that gave him one wish. He wished for a lot of bananas, but they were magic bananas that gave him super powers!

Raiders of the Lost Banana
When Polly Roger steals the Crystal Coconut, Donkey Kong and Diddy chase him into the Ancient Temple Ruins in an effort to get it back.

Once there, Donkey Kong disturbs the sleeping idol "Inka Dinkadu"[sic] when he removes a sacred golden banana and Inka wants it relumed. Unfortunately, Donkey Kong has already given the banana to Candy, who has now been kidnapped by King K. Rool!

Other Episodes Include:
Barrel, Barrel - Who's Got The Barrel?, Kong For A Day, From Zero To Hero, Buried Treasure.

Errors[edit]

  • The back cover includes an incorrect synopsis of the show. It states the Donkey Kong once found the Crystal Coconut, and it gave him one wish. He wished for bananas, but he received magic bananas that gave him powers. It is possible that this is a mix-up of the show's synopsis and the plot of "Bad Hair Day," where Donkey Kong grew his hair and his strength back after eating a banana.
  • The back cover also includes a screenshot of "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Bluster," an episode not included in the DVD.
