Spiders are large, black arachnids with red legs in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! Its face bears a strong resemblance to a Snifit's gas mask, although it does not demonstrate the ability to spit bullets. It, however, makes chirping sounds.
In the spiders' sole appearance in the episode "Count Koopula", Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool, after jumping down a laundry chute and being deposited in Count Koopula's basement, find themselves menaced by them. Before the spiders can attack, Princess Toadstool manages to scare them away using two fireballs of a Magic Piranha Plant; the fireball hitting the abdomen of a fleeing spider even makes it explode like a balloon.
Any spiders inhabiting the castle are presumably crushed when it collapses after Count Koopula's defeat.
