In the Donkey Kong Country television series, one of the Crystal Coconut's powers is being able to turn anybody into a hologram. Holograms are holographic versions of characters that are used in order to go somewhere quickly. Holograms, however, are thin air and can't interact with anything in the real world. Cranky is most often seen as hologram, yet a younger version of Cranky and Diddy have both been seen as holograms. In "Double Date Trouble," Cranky sings a song in which he explains to Donkey Kong the limitations of being a hologram.
