Variant of Chomps

Chomps Jr. (also stylized as Chomps, Jr.[1]) are enemies in Donkey Kong Country. These blue shark-like creatures attack either Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong by swimming into them, like with their larger counterpart and Bitesizes. Chomps Jrs. move considerably faster than Chomps, though they are smaller. Like the other underwater enemies, Chomps Jrs. can be defeated if stabbed by Enguarde. A Chomps Jr. is seen in a short segment of the ending credits in Donkey Kong's Treehouse, where it chases a Squidge off-screen, only to then return onscreen, swimming away from four angry Squidges. The first remake has a sticker of Chomps Jr. with the letter Z that can be printed using a Game Boy Printer. In the second remake, Chomps Jrs. appear in the Funky's Fishing mini-game, and the object of the Vine Valley challenge is having to reel in 15 Chomps Jrs. before time runs out.

Chomps Jrs. are not enemies in Donkey Kong Land, though Chomps are,[2] and their spritesMedia:Chomps - DKL Sprite.png were made to resemble Chomps Jrs.

Chomps Jrs. and their larger counterpart, Chomps, appear in the game trailer for the canceled Donkey Kong Racing, during the scene where Tiny and Diddy race one another on Enguardes.
