Grabby Gridiron is a 2-vs.-2 minigame that is found in Mario Party 8.
Introduction
The camera first shows a Jumbotron in the minigame that shows a football rotating as a futuristic techno version of the Underground Theme from Super Mario Bros. plays. The other camera then moves and shows the two teams coming out from the bottom side of the area. The main camera moves away from the Jumbotron and hovers into position where the players are each standing near a corner on the field. The minigame then begins.
Gameplay
The teams attempt to get points by getting footballs to the goals depending on the team colors players have. Two of the four cannons at the far top side of the area shoot out the first two footballs; then they start to bounce by the walls, making it hard for teams to get the footballs. When a player gets a football, they have to quickly go to their team's goal. When one of the teams gets the football into the goal, one of the cannons shoots another football to anywhere on the field. The status bars on the screen indicate how many footballs each team has thrown into the goal. The players can also jump on, punch, and kick other players to stun them temporarily. If a player who has the football is jumped on, punched, or kicked, they drop it; anyone has a chance to get it. Additionally, the teams can jump from the ground to pass the football to each other. The first team to get five footballs in its goal wins. If neither team does so within a certain time limit, a tie occurs.
Ending
The winning players are shown doing their winning poses on the Jumbotron while the losing players do their losing poses behind them.
