The theme has reappeared in several games since its original appearance, though it has continued to be exclusively associated with the Mega Mushroom.

Reuses

Game Description
Mario Kart Wii "Mega Mario" plays when the player uses a Mega Mushroom.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 "Mega Mario" plays when the player collects a Mega Mushroom.
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury "Mega Mario" plays when the player collects a Mega Mushroom.

Arrangements

Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii extensively showcases the doppler effect, which is a real-world phenomenon where the pitch of a sound is distorted when the object omitting the sound is moving at a different speed than the object receiving the sound. As a result, when the player passes or is passed by an opponent with a Mega Mushroom, the pitch of the theme will be distorted as they move closer or further away from the player.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

In Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, a metal arrangement of "Mega Mario" plays when the player or an opponent collects a Mega Mushroom.

Mario Party series

Mario Party: The Top 100

In Mario Party: The Top 100, an arrangement of "Mega Mario" plays during the Mush Pit minigame when the player collects a Mega Mushroom, replacing the theme heard in Mario Party 3.

Mario Party Superstars

Like in Mario Party: The Top 100, Mario Party Superstars features a new arrangement of "Mega Mario" that plays during the Mush Pit minigame when the player collects a Mega Mushroom, replacing the theme heard in Mario Party 3.

Other arrangements

Super Mario Series for Guitar - Super Best

A solo guitar arrangement of the theme titled 「巨大BGM」 (Kyodai BGM, "Giant BGM") and arranged by Satoshi Aikawa is featured in the Super Mario Series for Guitar - Super Best sheet music book.
