Gizmos, Gears, and Gadgets is the only mission of the Rolling Gizmo Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy. The mission's objective is to navigate a Rolling Ball through an obstacle course.

Layout

The player starts on a small platform with the Rolling Ball, which the player must roll over a narrow beam with a Goomba and a Micro Goomba. Afterward are large, steel blocks the player has to destroy by jumping into them, followed by jumping into an upward bridge to knock it down, then breaking another steel block to uncover a launch hole. To hole will send the player to a small sloped platform with many Coins and the hole in the center will drop the player onto a set of rails leading to the next area.

The next area is a large platform with many Goombas, Micro Goombas, and holes. Afterward is a rotating platform followed by a set of spinning gears the player has to jump between, along with a large block that can shove the player off the edge. On one of the larger gears is a Bob-omb dispenser that sends out four Bob-ombs at a time. After the gears are a set of platforms followed by rails and ramps with speed boosts. There is a large gear the player will land on, followed by a beam with two large cubes moving across, and the goal is placed behind them. Getting the Rolling Ball into the hole will reward the player with the Power Star.
