This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.

The Piranha Plant Tour is the seventy-fourth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on July 13, 2022 and will end on July 26, 2022. As the tour's name indicates, it features numerous Piranha Plant-themed content, including Piranha Plant Slide from Mario Kart 7 returning as a classic course, Petey Piranha as a new driver (marking his first playable appearance in the Mario Kart series since Mario Kart: Double Dash!! almost 19 years prior, and leaving Koopa Paratroopa as the only character from that game to not yet be playable in Tour), a Petey Piranha-themed Mii Racing Suit released as part of Wave 10, the Piranha Pipes kart from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and the new Piranha Plant Balloons glider. Additionally, most of the courses that have Piranha Plants in them, such as GCN Yoshi Circuit and SNES Choco Island 2, are also included. The tour also notably takes place during the 20th anniversary of Super Mario Sunshine, Petey Piranha's debut game, in Japan, July 19.

Starting from this tour, with the exception of coins, the bonus point boosts from glider special skills will apply to items that appear in driver special skills, like the Lucky Seven. For example, if a player is to use a glider with the Mushroom Plus skill, the player will receive more bonus points from picking up Mushrooms shot out of a Mushroom Cannon, instead of the point boost strictly applying to Mushrooms received in Item Boxes.

This tour's Coin Rush course is SNES Choco Island 2. The menu's background features the castle and some Warp Pipes from Piranha Plant Slide as the landmarks for this tour.

Starting from this tour, the Sunny Surf Sailer kart is available in regular tour pipes, including the All-Clear Pipe.

Today's Challenge

Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in N64 Kalimari Desert R in the Mii Cup using the King Boo Mii Racing Suit for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
