Jack-o'-lanterns with the faces of Bowser, a Boo and a Shy Guy carved on them appear in Mario Kart Tour during the 2020 Halloween Tour. They were added throughout every course of this tour, except for SNES Rainbow Road, GBA Bowser's Castle 2, their variants, 3DS Toad Circuit R/T, and 3DS Rainbow Road R/T. Jack-o'-lanterns that lie on the track can be knocked away by driving into them or hitting them with an item, emitting a brief Boo-like chortle when hit. They grow back in the same spot after a while. Like with festive trees and kadomatsu from previous tours, interacting with a Jack-o'-lantern awards the player bonus points, with the action being displayed as "Trick or treat!" A number of Jack-o'-lanterns of various sizes are also found on the sides of tracks or in the background and can also be driven into or hit with a shell or Bob-omb to obtain bonus points, although these remain in place. Starting October 25, 2020, 06:00 UTC for the remainder of the Halloween Tour, interacting with a Jack-o'-lantern of any kind also gives drivers an event token.

Jack-o'-lanterns returned in the Autumn Tour, where they're once again scattered across every track of the tour, except for GBA Sunset Wilds, 3DS Rosalina's Ice World, 3DS Rainbow Road, their variants, and SNES Donut Plains 2R/T. They once again reward event tokens when taken out, but with the difference being that they do in the entirety of the tour instead of only in the second week.

Jack-o'-lanterns do not appear in most bonus challenges. When they do, they are all off the main track.
