Template:Character-infobox Kudgel is a large, over-muscular, club wielding Kremling and third boss in the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. His name is derived from "cudgel", meaning "club" or "to beat with a club".

Kudgel was protector of Crocodile Isle main port, Krem Quay.[1] Kudgel is fought in the level Kudgel's Kontest. Kudgel attacks Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong by leaping up through the air and trying to smash down on them. The Kongs must carefully dodge Kudgel's leaps and leap whenever Kudgel lands, as he will send out a shockwave that can stun the Kongs, leaving them open to attack.

After a few jumps, Kudgel will land and swing his club. He then performs a short jump that causes a TNT Barrel to appear. The TNT Barrel must be thrown at Kudgel quickly or Kudgel will jump away; if the Kongs try to throw the TNT Barrel at Kudgel after he jumps away, he'll block the TNT Barrel with his club. Every time Kudgel is hit with a TNT Barrel, he will jump progressively lower and faster.

After taking three TNT Barrels, Kudgel does alter his battle strategy by performing three high jumps, followed by a short jump that causes another TNT Barrel to appear. Kudgel will speed up his movement each time he takes a hit by a TNT Barrel.

After being hit by six TNT Barrels, Kudgel will be blasted into the nearby swampy water of Krem Quay where he apparently perished.

Kudgel is the only boss from Donkey Kong Country 2 who does not reappear in Donkey Kong Land 2, likely due to system limitations.
