Code Dependency is one of Kat & Ana's microgames in WarioWare: Smooth Moves. It returns in WarioWare Gold as one of Penny's microgames. It is also one of Wario's microgames in WarioWare: Move It! The name is a pun onCo-dependency' a noun which means to have an unhealthy attachment to another person.

Gameplay

The player should rotate the object so that the bar code is facing the scanner. As the levels progress, the item becomes more expensive. In Smooth Moves and Move It!, a price number will appear if the player wins the microgame (such as 0.99). In Smooth Moves, the cashier is an old man, while in Gold, the cashier is a computer, which becomes mad if the player does not scan the item. In Move It!, the cashier is Wario, who is controlled by the player. He holds a scanner in the player's dominant hand and the object in the other hand.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

  • 1st level difficulty: The player scans a simple object.
  • 2nd level difficulty: The player scans a more complex object.
  • 3rd level difficulty: The player scans an awkwardly-shaped object.

WarioWare Gold

  • 1st level difficulty: The object is simple.
  • 2nd level difficulty: The object either has fake bar codes or has a pattern similar to the bar code.
  • 3rd level difficulty: Same as level 1, except that the player has two objects to scan.

WarioWare: Move It!

The microgame in this game shares its music with Screwed Tight.

  • Level 1: The player must scan an apple or a potato, and the bar code is easy to find. The man nods in approval at the very cheap price.
  • Level 2: The player must scan a volleyball or a soccer ball, and the bar code is harder to find. The man shows shock at the slightly expensive price.
  • Level 3: The player must scan a zebra plush or a black and white hat, which is awkwardly-shaped and has a pattern similar to the bar code, making it very hard to find. The man puts his arms up in shock at the overly expensive price.
