Template:Species-infobox Buzzbites are insect-like enemies in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. They inhabit several levels of the game, namely Jagged Jewels, Vine Valley, and Five Monkey Trial. Buzzbites rapidly rotate their legs around their stubby bodies in order to move along platforms, walls, and grassy layers. Their appearance is that of a violet colored arthropod with cream and indigo striped legs. A Buzzbite can only be defeated with a barrel and can harm Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong upon simple contact. The Kongs can avoid them with a jump.

Despite their concept artwork showing a dizzy, unmoving specimen, Buzzbites can never be stopped in-game without getting defeated. They also never cease to their heart's content to run across surfaces.

Firebites form a species of enemies that relate to Buzzbites, and can only be encountered in Perilous Passage. They behave the same as Buzzbites, but they would leave additional fire trails behind, which are harmful for the Kongs.
