Ice Flower
Ice Flowers are the opposite of Fire Flowers similar to how the Ice Bro. is the opposite the Fire Bro.. Ice Flowers first appeared in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. The effects of an Ice Flower are similar to a Bros. Flower, but they allow the Mario quartet to shoot ice balls instead of fireballs. Ice Flowers can randomly lower the enemies' Attack, Defense, or Speed.
Ice Flowers reappear in Super Mario Galaxy. Ice Flowers turn Mario into Ice Mario, which lets him cross water and lava by turning it into ice as he steps on it. Additionally, instead of running, Mario will skate about the level, increasing his speed. The music for it will get faster until the effect of the Ice Flower ends. There is only a limited amount of time Mario can keep the Ice Flower ability. It appears in the Beach Bowl Galaxy, Freezeflame Galaxy and Deep Dark Galaxy.
Ice Flowers reappear once more in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In this game, they function as a combination of the Fire Flower from previous games and the new Penguin Suit from the same game. They allow Mario, Luigi, and the Toads to launch ice balls to freeze opponents. Yoshi can grab an ice ball thrown by another player and spit it out. This also works for fire balls from a Fire Flower.
