The Summer Tour is the hundred-and-third tour of Mario Kart Tour, which begins on August 23, 2023 and ends on September 6, 2023. This tour introduces a new city course based on Madrid, Spain called Madrid Drive. With this tour's introduction, there has been a tour named after each season during the game's fourth year, as there were also tours named after seasons for Autumn, Winter, and Spring.

The tour also introduces a purple variant of the Pit Crew Toad, and a new outfit for Mario based on his black and blue suit from Super Mario Odyssey, making this the first tour since the Anniversary Tour to introduce Mario in any costume. Due to the retirement of Charles Martinet from voicing Mario, said costume currently marks the final instance of a newly recorded voice line from him being used for the character. Additionally, many sport-themed vehicle parts are introduced in this tour, relating to baseball and golf.

This tour concludes the Summertime Celebration which occurred in the two previous tours.

This tour features the first appearances of Los Angeles Laps 3 since the 2022 Autumn Tour; Tokyo Blur and Tokyo Blur 2 since the 2023 Winter Tour; Berlin Byways, Berlin Byways 2, and Paris Promenade B since the latter's debut in the Spring Tour; Wii Moonview Highway following its debut in the Night Tour; Piranha Plant Cove 3 following its debut in the 2023 Mii Tour; Paris Promenade 3R/T following its debut in the 2021 Paris Tour; and the other variants of Paris Promenade 3 since the Metropolitan Tour.

This is the first tour to add favorite courses to Peachette and the Poison Apple Kart since the Peach Tour and Rosalina Tour, respectively.v

Today's Challenge

Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in Paris Promenade 3T in the Mii Cup using the Orange Mii Racing Suit for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
