Spike Bro. was the first boss in Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land and was a member of the Brown Sugar Pirates. He resided at the end of the Rice Beach stage and was armed with spiky armor similar to a Koopatrol. In his fight with Wario, he employed a three-pronged attack of striking from land, air, and underground. His shell makes him invulnerable to ground pounds and fire. Spike Bro. also appeared in a Nintendo Power special, where he was called Spiked Koopa Troopa.
