Buddy, Mario & Luigi: Brothership

Buddy is a character in Mario & Luigi: Brothership. He is a young boy from Offandon Island who develops a friendship with Bowser Jr. Buddy is a yellow-skinned, blue-eyed Concordian who wears a blue top, cyan dungarees, and a blue beanie, and a red scarf is tied around his neck.

History

When Mario and Luigi first arrive on Offandon Island, they find Buddy trapped behind boulders and help free him. However, Buddy runs away from Mario and Luigi having been convinced by Bowser that Mario and Luigi are bad people. As Mario and Luigi realise they are being portrayed as outlaws, Buddy suspects they are not bad people and helps Mario and Luigi sneak around the plaza to the island's lighthouse.

Later on, Mario and Luigi are thrown in a jail cell which Buddy helps release them from. Bowser Jr. learns of this and ends his and Buddy's friendship. Buddy goes to Bowser's Castle on Wayaway Island in an attempt to make amends, although Bowser Jr. gets captured by the Extension Corps who infect Buddy with Glohm. Kamek gives Buddy an Ampberry to cure him and he returns to Offandon Island.

While Mario and Luigi gather Bonds to reach the Soli-Tree, they return to Offandon Island where Buddy begs them to save Bowser Jr. from Glohm-infected minions. Bowser Jr. reluctantly makes amends with Buddy and their friendship becomes one of the Bonds Mario and Luigi collect.

After Reclusa is defeated, an optional cutscene plays at the beach on Shipshape Island, where Bowser Jr. and Buddy part ways as the former returns to the Mushroom Kingdom, but reminds him that they will be friends forever, no matter what.

During the credits, Buddy can be seen hanging out with Arc.
