Settle It in Court is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Let's settle it in court," which traditionally refers to a judicial court rather than a basketball one. This minigame is similar in concept to Three Throw from Mario Party 4.
Introduction
The player is on a basketball court, among a Shy Guy and many Goombas. The Shy Guy throws the player a basketball, and they shoot it. The game begins after that.
Gameplay
The Shy Guy throws basketballs from the side, and there is a meter at the top of the screen, with a basketball going from right to left across it, one at a time. When the ball icon reaches the yellow marker at the center, the player must swing

Ending
The winning player does their victory animation, as well as the Shy Guy and the Goombas, which are jumping. If a tie occurs, both players do their losing animations.
Test for the Best
In Test for the Best, the player plays alone in this minigame and must sink as many baskets as possible within 30 seconds. The scores required to earn a certain point total are as follows:
