A screw[1][2] appears in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins as a type of sentient enemy. They are encountered near the end of the Mario Zone's first stage only. The screws wind themselves out of the ground and bounce toward Mario to attack while attempting to drill into him from above. Screws can be defeated from either being jumped on or from a fireball.
