The players must compete to reach the finish line while avoiding hitting the walls and various obstacles. The course starts out in a grassy land surrounded by mountains, where the racers must avoid hitting rocks. After entering a dark tunnel, they exit into a canyon, where the road is dustier and more rocks are present. At the end of that segment is a second dark tunnel that leads out into a desert-like set of ruins vaguely reminescent of {{wp|ancient Rome}}. This segment is the longest and most difficult, with giant bricks obstructing the players. The finish line awaits at the end of the ruins.

Canyon Cruisers is a one- or two-player minigame found only in the Extras Zone in Mario Party 8. Like in all Extras Zone games, the players can use Miis as well as the other available playable characters.

Introduction

The character rides a shiny blue car that flies in the air and drives for a few seconds. The character then stops where two Shy Guys are holding up a red-and-white-square banner. The minigame then starts.

Gameplay

The players must compete to reach the finish line while avoiding hitting the walls and various obstacles. The course starts out in a grassy land surrounded by mountains, where the racers must avoid hitting rocks. After entering a dark tunnel, they exit into a canyon, where the road is dustier and more rocks are present. At the end of that segment is a second dark tunnel that leads out into a desert-like set of ruins vaguely reminiscent of ancient Rome. This segment is the longest and most difficult, with giant bricks obstructing the players. The finish line awaits at the end of the ruins.

Ending

After the player crosses the finish line, the character waves their hand to the player.
