Steer Clear of Obstacles (known as Don't crash in the closed beta) is a type of bonus challenge in Mario Kart Tour. The goal in these bonus challenges, as the name suggests, is to maneuver around and avoid obstacles in a course before all three balloons pop and reaching the finish line. Courses featured in Steer Clear of Obstacles challenges contain additional enemies and obstacles not found during regular races to hinder the player's progress. Some obstacles, such as Oil slicks, Piranha Plants, and Goombas, will cause the player to lose one of their three balloons. If all the player's balloons are popped, they will have to restart the challenge from the beginning, since the amount of Grand Stars gained depends on how many balloons the player still has (although in the beta, there was a minimum requirement of one balloon to get all three Grand Stars).
