Bonefins[1] are metallic-looking fish that appear in Super Mario Galaxy. They only appear in the Bonefin Galaxy during the boss battle with Kingfin. They have glowing red eyes, spinning, propeller-like fins, and attack in a way that is very similar to Torpedo Teds: by homing in on the player and striking them to cause damage. They can be destroyed by being led to the surface. After the player has used a Green Shell or a Red Shell to damage Kingfin, it will summon Bonefins to attack Mario. When the player has hit Kingfin two more times, he will summon more Bonefins, which will disappear after the battle has finished.
In New Super Mario Bros. Wii onwards, Fish Bone was reintroduced with basic homing abilities that may be based on this enemy.
