The Piranha Plant Tour is the seventy-fourth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on July 13, 2022 and will end on July 26, 2022. As the tour's name indicates, it features numerous Piranha Plant-themed content, including Piranha Plant Slide from Mario Kart 7 returning as a classic course, Petey Piranha as a new driver (marking his first playable appearance in the Mario Kart series since Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, almost 19 years prior), a Petey Piranha-themed Mii Racing Suit released as part of Wave 10, the Piranha Pipes from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and the new Piranha Plant Balloons. With Petey Piranha's addition, Koopa Paratroopa is the only playable character from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! not playable in Mario Kart Tour as of this tour.
This tour's Coin Rush course is SNES Choco Island 2. The menu's background features the castle and some Warp Pipes from Piranha Plant Slide as the landmarks for this tour.
Today's Challenge
Players' most recently used kart and glider are chosen, and favorite and favored ones have extra priority. Opponents are arranged randomly. On day 1 of this tour, players finish a race in N64 Kalimari Desert R in the Mii Cup using the King Boo Mii Racing Suit for a free pipe launch. Starting from day 2, players have to finish a race in the earliest incomplete course that is not in any of the ranked cups using the driver shown on the course's thumbnail every day to obtain the corresponding reward in the table below. Once all of the courses are completed, the courses are selected at random.
