Template:MKTTour The Cat Tour is the thirty-sixth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on January 27, 2021 and will end on February 9, 2021. Like the name suggests, it marks the return of Cat Peach and introduces Cat Toad as playable characters, while adding new cat-themed kart parts such as the Cat Cruiser from Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Toe-Bean Balloons, and Donut Plains 2 from Super Mario Kart returns as a classic course, which serves as the signature course of the tour. The menu's background featured the hills from Donut Plains 2 as the landmark for this tour. The tour took place close to the release of the similarly-themed Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

This is the last tour to feature the third set of Expert Challenges, which started in the Mario vs. Luigi Tour.

The Cat Tour reuses the Daisy Cup bonus challenge from the 2019 Winter Tour for this tour's Shy Guy Cup (although the 1-star and 3-star requirements were increased from 10 and 35 to 15 and 38), the King Boo Cup bonus challenge from the Ice Tour for this tour's Toad Cup, the Koopa Troopa Cup bonus challenge from the Valentine's Tour for this tour's Baby Peach Cup (although the 2-star and 3-star requirements were decreased from 8 and 10 to 7 and 9), the Hammer Bro Cup's bonus challenge from the Cooking Tour for this tour's Bowser Jr. Cup, the Dry Bones Cup bonus challenge from the Peach Tour for this tour's Peach Cup (although the 1-star, 2-star, and 3-star requirements were adjusted from 15, 30, and 45 to 24, 34, and 42), and the Dry Bones Cup bonus challenge from the Wild West Tour for this tour's Fire Bro Cup.

As of this tour, Tanooki Mario is the only Mario series playable character in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe who has yet to reappear in Mario Kart Tour (Not counting the Mii Characters).
This is the eighth tour to not have a Vs. Mega (opponent) bonus challenge in the final cup of the tour, the other seven being the Tokyo, Peach, Summer Festival, Sunset, Mario vs. Luigi, New Year's 2021, and Berlin Tours.
