Template:MKTTour The 1st Anniversary Tour is the twenty-eighth tour of Mario Kart Tour, which began on October 7, 2020, and will end on October 20, 2020. It celebrates the first anniversary since Mario Kart Tour's release on September 25, 2019, and sees the return of four city-themed nitro courses while also introducing New York Minute 3. Log-in bonuses are extended from 10 days to all 14 days of the tour, as is the event tokens event. Anniversary Challenges are also added alongside the standard Tour Challenges and grant the player rubies as rewards for completing each of them. Additionally, the number of free pipes for this tour has increased from 4 to 6. The menu's background featured the Empire State Building as the landmark for this tour.

This tour was first announced three days after the previous tour began, which makes this tour's announcement date the closest to its previous tour's starting date. However, no information besides its name was given until the day the tour would have normally been announced.

The 1st Anniversary Tour reuses the Luigi Cup's bonus challenge from the Halloween Tour for this tour's Dry Bones Cup, the Baby Rosalina Cup's bonus challenge from the Paris Tour for this tour's Diddy Kong Cup, the Shy Guy Cup's bonus challenge from the London Tour for this tour's Peach Cup, and the Peachette Cup's bonus challenge from the Valentine's Tour for this tour's Bowser Jr. Cup.

Signature kart sets

In every cup, the driver which the cup is themed about is raised a tier on each track, making them a three- or two-item driver on that course. Up until the Ice Tour, a kart and a glider were also given a bonus for each race in the cup.

Trivia

This is the first tour to have two variants of the same course in a cup, namely SNES Choco Island 1 (both the Reverse and Trick variant of the course appear in the Diddy Kong Cup).
Despite celebrating the game's first anniversary, the tour which took place during the game's actual anniversary a year after the game first released was the Los Angeles Tour.
