They are a species of Swoops and they act similarly to them. These enemies attack by freezing Mario or Luigi when he collides with them. When the player goes into their territory, they charge at the player to damage them. Ice Bats can only be defeated by Fire Mario. When they freeze Mario or Luigi, they taunt or laugh at them when they get frostbitten. However, Spinning can make them back away.
