Template:Worldbox World 1 is the first world in Super Mario 3D Land. It takes place in a green field with flowers, pipes and hills in the background. The five levels of this world are very simple. It features five levels and a Mystery Box.

Level information

World 1-1

Layout

This first level of the game takes place in a simple grassland area. Princess Peach's Castle and the Tanooki-tailed Tree can be seen in the background. When Mario starts, some colored blocks are near a stream with a jumping Cheep-Cheep and a bridge. After Mario cross it, a Goomba will chase him. There are two Brick Blocks and a Question Block with a Super Leaf. Other stream with three coins must be crossed, easily with Tanooki Mario or a Long Jump. Soon after, an area with Brick Blocks and bushes in the ground are found. Close to this area is a small wall and two Elevators to help Mario get to the top. Above the cliff, there are many dendelions, trees and two Goombas. Ahead are a castle-like wall and many Brick Blocks. In one of them is hidden a device that makes the ground under it rises when Mario spins it (by swinging the Tanooki-tail). Above is a small roof with Crates. After the plumber get out of this area, he can use a Binocular to see Toad teaching how to jump on the Flagpole (failing). Mario can head forward to some Tail Goombas, more Brick Blocks, colored blocks. Some land platforms and wooden bridges are found in an narrow path, leadind to more Tail Goombas and a Giant Tail Goomba. Ahead, there is a pond. A small island is in the middle of this pond, with colored blocks and the Flagpole.

Star Medals

  • Star Medal 1: Just across the first river, on the south end of the second landmass, there are four platforms, divided by the river and connected by a tightrope. On this tightrope is the Star Medal.
  • Star Medal 2: Near the first flag, there will be a tree. By climbing the tree, the player can see some jump blocks, which will lead him/her to a platform with a Warp Pipe. Down this pipe, there will be several large used blocks stacked together. A block floating near the others (which appears to be stacked on top of another used block) will have the Star Medal.
  • Star Medal 3: Near the end of the stage, there will be several platforms and a bridge, with a tightrope connecting them. The Star Medal will be floating above the tightrope.

This is the first underground level. The level starts with Mario in front of a torch. A Ball 'n' Chain is swinging near this place. After pass the obstacle, he will find two Goombas, two Brick Blocks and a Question Block with a Fire Flower inside. Ahead, there are some crates that Mario can destroy or only jump over them. A Template:Conjecturaltext is found and, just after, more Brick Blocks. Near to them, there is a spinning platform with other Template:Conjecturaltext. In the next area, are found two rectangular ? Blocks, stacked Goombas, many Brick Blocks and a Checkpoint Flag. Soon after, Mario arrives in a small room with a single coin. If he touches it, a trail of coins will appear. After leaving this room, Mario will face with more ? Blocks, Koopa Troopas, stacked Goombas and other Ball 'n' Chain. Some platforms are flying in a small gap and another Template:Conjecturaltext can be defeated. Mario can grab a blue Clock. A bridge with three Ball 'n' Chains must be crossed. In the other side, there is a torch that, when lit, will make a trail of coins appear. A Warp Pipe will take Mario to the Flagpole.

Star Medals

  • Star Medal 1: Behind the rotating wheel. Mario can grab the Medal after the first right turn.
  • Star Medal 2: Floating above one of the floating platforms past the second Ball 'n' Chain.
  • Star Medal 3: A little behind of the bridge with Ball 'n' Chains, there is a thin path with two Template:Conjecturaltext. The Medal is just past the bridge, at the end of a small path.

World 1-3

World 1-3

This level takes place in a valley with many waterfalls. Mario starts on a rock. In this rock, a Binocular can be used to see Toad above the right cliff (that gives Mario a Star Medal). Ahead, in some wooden platforms there are two Piranha Plants and a Roulette Block. More platforms are found, each time lower, with Biddybuds, a Koopa Troopa and a Note Block. At one point, Mario will find a Mystery Box. Inside it, there is a purple room with three ? Blocks, two with a single coin and one with multiple coins. After Mario leave the Mystery Box, he will face with more Biddybuds and Para-Biddybuds. In the next area, Mario must ride a direction-change platform to cross a small cliff. In the other side, is positioned a Midway Flag, Venus Fire Trapand many trunks. Mario must go to the right, where a Template:Conjecturaltext is found. Some clouds help Mario to traverse other cliff. Above them is a Red Ring. After, Mario jumps over a rock pillar. Jumping to a far below platform where Mario must ride another change-direction platform under some ? Blocks. The plumber must jump over Wooden Blocks until reach near the place where some Biddybuds and the Flagpole are located.

Star Medals

  • Star Medal 1: Mario must use the Binoculars in the start of the stage to find a Toad on the top of the right cliff. This Toad will throw a Star Medal into a nearby ♪ Block
  • Star Medal 3: Mario, near the second Venus Fire Trap, must go forward instead of turning to the right. There, he must jump above clouds. The last Star Medal is above one of them.

World 1-4

Layout

A dock-like stage where Mario can use platforms in rails with arrows to choose the direction throughout the level. The background resembles Jolly Roger Bay. This stage must be unlocked by having 3 Star Coins. Mario starts right before a platform that travels down rails with arrows on each side.

Star Medals

  • Star Medal 1: Mario must ride the green platform to the rising water to the top path.
  • Star Medal 2: Mario must go forward on the first green platform with arrows after the checkpoint and go backwards when it drops.
  • Star Medal 3: Mario must manuever the green platforms after the mystery box over the gushing water.
