The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors. If an official name is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.

A Haunted Lantern is an enemy that appears in Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and Super Paper Mario. The Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Paper Mario incarnations are similar, but the Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins incarnation is wildly different.

In Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, they reside in the Pumpkin Zone. As their name suggests, they resemble lanterns. Their attack method involves them sticking out their lethal tongues.

In Super Paper Mario, they appear solely in Merlee's Basement.
